Physicians seeking hands-on training in epidural lysis of adhesions (LOA), also known as percutaneous epidural adhesiolysis or the Racz® Procedure, can explore three educational opportunities supported by Epimed in November 2026: a cadaver workshop station in Jersey City and Racz Lab workshops in Melbourne and Amsterdam.

These programs bring physicians together to study procedural approaches, discuss clinical considerations and learn alongside colleagues in interventional pain management.

Clinical Evidence and Procedural Education

Epidural adhesiolysis has been studied in selected patients with chronic lumbar radicular pain that persists despite conservative treatment.

A randomized, placebo-controlled trial initially enrolling 90 patients reported better pain and disability outcomes in the adhesiolysis group than in the control group at ten-year follow-up. Published by Gerdesmeyer et al. in Pain Physician in 2021, the study provides long-term evidence relevant to this patient population. Interpretation should account for the study’s limitations, including additional treatments received during follow-up.

Clinical evidence provides an important foundation for education. Hands-on training complements that foundation by giving physicians a setting to examine procedural techniques and discuss questions with faculty and peers.

Epidural Adhesiolysis Training Opportunities in November 2026

Epimed is supporting three educational opportunities this November, bringing LOA-related training and clinical learning to physicians across three locations:

Jersey City, New Jersey, USA | November 8, 2026

As part of the NYNJ Pain Medicine Congress, Epimed will support a Lysis of Adhesions station at the cadaver workshop. This opportunity will allow participating physicians to engage with the procedure in a hands-on educational setting.

Melbourne, Australia | November 14–15, 2026

Epimed is sponsoring a Racz Lab Interventional Pain Workshop in Melbourne. This program will provide an opportunity for physicians to develop their understanding of interventional pain techniques and explore the Racz® Procedure through practical training and clinical discussion.

Amsterdam, Netherlands | November 29–30, 2026

The November educational series will continue in Amsterdam with another Racz Lab Interventional Pain Workshop. Physicians will have an opportunity to further their procedural knowledge, exchange perspectives with colleagues, and participate in hands-on learning.

Supporting Physicians Education and Advancing Pain Management

At Epimed, we recognize that continued education and collaboration are important to the advancement of interventional pain management. By supporting hands-on training opportunities and physician engagement, we aim to help clinicians strengthen their procedural knowledge and remain connected to evolving clinical evidence.

Whether attending in the United States, Australia, or the Netherlands, physicians can use these November opportunities to expand their knowledge of the Racz® Procedure and engage with the broader interventional pain community.

Review the individual event programs, participation requirements and current registration availability to identify the workshop that fits your educational goals.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Racz® Procedure?

The Racz® Procedure, also known as epidural lysis of adhesions or percutaneous epidural adhesiolysis, is an interventional technique used in selected patients with chronic spinal pain, including lumbar radicular pain.

Why combine procedural training with education on dedicated instruments?

Understanding a procedure includes understanding the instruments used to perform it. Hands-on education provides a setting to explore the design and handling of dedicated tools, such as Racz® catheters and the RX-2® Coudé® needle, alongside procedural techniques and safety considerations. Physicians should consult individual workshop programs for details of the equipment used.

Who are these epidural adhesiolysis workshops intended for?

These educational opportunities are intended for physicians interested in interventional pain management and epidural adhesiolysis. Participation requirements vary by event and should be reviewed with the organizer.
